Rachel M. Garcia Noorthoek

Rachel M. Garcia Noorthoek is a seasoned personal injury attorney boasting over 18 years of litigation experience.

Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Rachel pursued her undergraduate education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English. Her academic journey then led her back to her hometown of Chicago, where she earned her law degree from DePaul College of Law. During her time at DePaul, Rachel’s legal acumen shone as she contributed to the Moot Court Appellate team, showcasing her skills on a national stage.

Rachel’s path to personal injury law was set in motion during her law school years when her brother suffered a workplace injury as an ironworker. She clerked for the law firm representing her brother, and this experience ignited her passion for advocating on behalf of individuals harmed due to the negligence of others.

Witnessing the life-altering impact of personal injuries, Rachel was resolute in her choice to practice in this area of law. For four years in Chicago, she served as a dedicated plaintiff’s attorney, honing her skills and gaining comprehensive insights into every facet of these cases, including successfully representing clients in multiple trials.

Following this invaluable experience, Rachel shifted her perspective, transitioning to work as an insurance defense attorney. This transition provided her with invaluable insights into the inner workings of insurance companies and how they assess claims, adding depth to her legal expertise.

In 2015, Rachel and her husband relocated to North Carolina, where she recommitted herself to representing injured individuals. Her legal practice in North and South Carolina focuses on a wide range of personal injury claims, encompassing motor vehicle collisions, dog bite incidents, and premises liability cases. Rachel is known for her fearlessness in advocating for her clients, even if it means taking their cases to court. She has a notable track record of arguing before the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Rachel’s legal credentials extend beyond North Carolina, as she obtained her license to practice law in South Carolina in 2019. She holds admission to practice in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, all State courts in North Carolina, all federal courts in North Carolina, and all state and federal courts in South Carolina.

Committed to her professional development, Rachel is an active member of several esteemed legal associations, including the North Carolina Bar Association, The Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice. Rachel is also a member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. The organization was founded in 1993 and there are approximately 3000 members located throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. Forum membership acknowledges excellence in advocacy, and provides members with a national network of experienced colleagues for professional referral and information exchange in major cases. Members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum must have acted as principal counsel in at least one case in which their client has received a verdict, award, or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more. Members of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum must be Life Members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and must have acted as principal counsel in at least one case which has resulted in a multi-million dollar verdict, award or settlement. Rachel has been approved for membership in both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Beyond her legal pursuits, Rachel enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband Scott and their two sons. For fun they love to take trips to the beach and mountains, and having boating adventures in Lake Norman.
